Intro

COURSE DESCRIPTION 

  During this ALL-INCLUSIVE course, students will use dummy cakes to learn and practice all the basic techniques of sugar paste. During the course we will:

  • a three-tiered dummy cake( 4", 6", 8" cakes 3" deep)
  • shape and cover a real basic carved cake
  • model 2 figures
  • decorate six cupcakes
  • make sugar bows, and fantasy sugar flowers.

Decorate the cakes and cupcakes using fondant and gum paste( see examples in the photos attached).

We offer this as an alternative option for those looking to work on real cakes only. 

Students will also learn :

Crimping and embossing, Fabric Effects, Textured Drapes, Frills, Ribbons, Bows, & sugar Embroidery, Modelling Figures, Textures, Inlay and applique, Stacked Cake Design and handling Designing Celebration Cakes & Color Balance.

The business side will cover guidelines for starting a business from home, Copyright and license issues, pricing cakes, advertising, and insurance.

By the end of this course, you'll learn to cover, stack and decorate a three-tiered dummy cake, make couple of adult-like figurines, decorate  6 cupcakes, carve and decorate a real cake ( see examples of projects on the photos attached).

The price covers the tuition fees( 25 hours in class tuition), the newest student kit, student book, templates and instructions to use during the course, consumables, packaging and everything else you need for the course upon completing the module; you'll be getting a PME sugar paste certificate.

 The course starts daily at 9 am and finishes at 3.30 pm and runs over 4 consecutive days.

At the end of the course, you'll take home your student kit, book, printed templates and instructions, all final projects, boards, decorations you will make during the course and most importantly, the KNOWLEDGE & CONFIDENCE, lots of tips and tricks for you to use in further successful projects.

Light refreshments: tea, coffee, water, biscuits) will be available for free throughout the course. We break for a 30-minute lunch break from 12 pm. Lunch is not provided, so you need to make your arrangements.
